PHP : strcmp() function

Description

The strcmp() function is used to compare two strings.

Version

(PHP 4 and above)

Syntax

strcmp(string1, string2)

Parameters

Return value

<0 : if string1 >0 : if string1>string2.
=0 : if string1=string2.

Value Type : Integer.

Example :

  1. $string1='w3resource';  

  2. $string2='W3resource';  

  3. $result=strcmp($string1,$string2);  

  4. echo $result;   

  5. ?>
