isnumber() Function Example

Let's take an example to demonstrate the usage of isnumber() function in Less file.

Create a Less file named "simple.less", having the following code:

Less file: simple.less

  1. div {

  2.     font:      isnumber(#ff0);

  3.     background:      isnumber(blue);

  4.     border:      isnumber("string");

  5.     font:      isnumber(1234);

  6.     background:      isnumber(56px);

  7.     border:      isnumber(7.8%);

  8. }

Now open the node.js command prompt and execute the following code: lessc simple.less simple.css

Less isnumber1

This will compile the "simple.less" file. A CSS file named "simple.css" will be generated.

For example:

Less isnumber2

The generated CSS "simple.css", has the following code:

Output:

Less isnumber3

  1. div {

  2.   font: false;

  3.   background: false;

  4.   border: false;

  5.   font: true;

  6.   background: true;

  7.   border: true;

  8. }
